Day-to-day I try not to depend on motivation, rather discipline. When it comes to my daily workouts, household chores, or even creative pursuits I depend mostly on discipline of having accomplished these tasks frequently in my daily routine. Usually the motivation kicks in later, or some days I will be lucky enough to have an extra motivational boost. Yet when I reflect on what I think motivates me, it’s most the desire to improve, to be better. Usually that takes building habits and discipline. If I relied entirely on motivation I wouldn’t get far.
